Preview Knit: Septima's Movement
The sweetest cabled cardigan you've never knit...yet
Septima's Movement is a seamed raglan cardigan knit from the bottom up, flat, then seamed together. The neck edging/button band is picked up and knit after seaming.
This raglan is shaped with a slightly wider back neck and a slightly longer back raglan seam for a cardigan that will stay on your shoulders. There are optional bust darts included in four cup sizes. Progress charts are included for shaping the Front Raglan and Neck.
Elizabeth's sample was knit with Julie Asselin Journey Sport, a wonderful Rambouillet Targhee non superwash wool. Julie Asselin is offering a very generous 20% discount to those chosen for this UX Knit. Using the yarn used in the sample is never required in our UX knits. This pattern is appropriate for wool and wool blends in sportweight. Non superwash is recommended for best results.
Everything you need to know
We've created a brief for you with everything you need to decide if this project is right for you. Inside, you'll find the illustrated schematic, yardage, fit guidance and needles.
What is a Preview Knit?
We're committed to creating patterns that make a promise and keep it.
Our pre-release process includes inviting a group of knitters to experience the final, edited draft of the pattern. They receive a copy of the pattern, access to a super supportive knitalong group, and are encouraged to make fit mods to create their dream project (and the designer is available to coach on that as needed). In exchange, we ask for feedback on their experience with the pattern.
These patterns are finished and ready to launch, you're not expected to finish your garment by the launch date. Feedback is welcome, what we really want to know is how the pattern holds up to real-life use. That's why knitters are encouraged to make the pattern work for their measurements, their yarn choices, etc.
