Sunup on 82nd - a seamless, top-down raglan with fun texture details

Inspired by the textures and colors of daybreak - craggy shadows, backlit clouds marching across a sherbert sky, the delicacy of first light creeping along a pebbled sidewalk - Sunup on 82nd features a nubby garter pattern in the yoke shaping and down the sides. The scoop neck and shaped hem add sophistication to an easy-fitting and cozy staple.

Designed more ease in the front than the back, this pullover sweater is made to fit bodies with breasts. Sunup on 82nd is worked seamlessly from the top down with short row shaping at the hem. The pattern features a progress chart to simplify ‘at the same time’ shaping for the scoop neckline and raglan design.

Sunup on 82nd is designed to fit with approximately 4 inches / 10 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust, 1.25 inches / 3 cm positive ease under the underarm, and between 3.5 - 4.25 inches / 9 - 10.5 cm positive ease in the upper sleeve. Sunup is designed with more ease in the front than in the back.

Jen is wearing size 6, with 4 inches / 10 cm of positive ease at the full bust. Her upper chest is 41.5 inches / 104 cm.

Yarn

Sample shown in Ritual Dyes Maiden held with Ritual Dyes Fae

Maiden: 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 400 yds / 366 m per 100 g skein. This is a hand-dyed, 2-ply fingering weight yarn. The final fabric is squishy with good stitch definition.

Fae: 72% Kid mohair, 28% silk; 459 yds / 420 m per 50 g skein. This is hand-dyed, plied, and fluffy lace weight yarn. It is naturally elastic and has a slight glow. The final fabric is airy and shiny. 

The yardage below is for fingering weight sock yarn and lace mohair held together, each, or DK weight.
