The Ruffle Addendum - a silky sleeveless tank knitting pattern

Sure, you're going to want to wear this silk-blend top as sleepwear, indulging in long mornings with cool sheets and a favorite novel without ever getting out of bed. And you totally can. Or, you can power up with your favorite tailored suit, take your coffee to go, and conquer the world. The choice is yours.

The Ruffle Addendum sleeveless top features signature fine finishing (that twisted rib hem! that sleek i-cord edging! look at that little baby-doll tie!) and a quick knitting silhouette. Make it your own by leaving off the ruffle or omitting the tie. The Ruffle Addendum has gentle A-line shaping and a v-neck.

Construction

The Ruffle Addendum is worked from the bottom up and seamed, An applied i-cord edging trims the neck-line and armholes. The optional ruffle is worked by picking up and knitting stitches.

Choose the size closest to your actual upper chest measurement: 29.5 (32.75, 36, 39.25) (42.5, 45.75, 49) (52.25, 55.5, 58.75) inches / 73.5 (81.5, 89.5, 98) (106, 114, 122) (130.5, 138.5, 146.5) cm

Upper chest is measured above the full bust, at an angle close to diagonal beneath the underarms, and straight across the back.

The Ruffle Addendum is designed to fit with approximately 1 inch / 2.5 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust.

If you need additional room for the bust, working the optional short row shaping will give you the best fit in the shoulders and armholes, while still making room for your chest. Short rows add length to the front only of the garment, so that the hem does not rise in the front.

Jen is wearing size D, with 1 inch / 2.5 cm of positive ease at the full bust.

50% superwash, 50% silk 4-ply fingering weight; 438 yds (400 m) per 100 g skein. This is a silky, soft, smooth yarn with high drape and low loft. Shown in colorway Clove.
